Dr. Lou Aronne: What’ll it be this or this? Did you know that for some people, eating a high protein, high fiber breakfast cuts down on calories later in the day? Some people think that a bran muffin is a good way to start the day. This muffin has 600 calories. And while it does have a lot of fiber, it has a lot of sugar, starch, and fat, much more than anyone needs to start the day. This plate of scrambled eggs and berries, on the other hand, has less than one half the calories. It has some protein, some fat, it has lots of fiber, and good nutrition in the berries. So eat this, not this.
