Greg Harper: I’m often asked what to give as a digital gift. First on my list, is this digital post-it note. Basically, it gives you the time, date, weather, and a five-day forecast. It runs on radio, so you don’t have to worry about wires. Just put a couple of batteries in it, and stick it on the wall wherever you want it. Another really cool idea for a technology gift is a digital picture frame. Just think about it, you go to a party and take digital pictures. How are you going to get the pictures back to them? Take your pictures, put them onto a memory card, and put it into one of the picture frames. They come in all different sizes and all different price points. Some of these picture fames that are even Wi-Fi connected and telephone connected. You basically plug it in and it will automatically upload pictures every night. I gave one to my mother; the only problem is that now she wants pictures everyday. Another fun thing is the LED branches. By themselves, they look pretty good, but mix them with different greens or colors and put them around them house. It really adds a festive note. Again, they’re very inexpensive. They’re weather proof and can be outside or inside. They can also be put in real water. Finally, candles. People give candles all the time, but these are digital candles. They are made out of wax, but they don’t melt and they’re all digital. They run on AA batteries and can be blown out, just like a regular candle. Unlike a regular candle, however, it can be blown back on. All of these gifts are really cost effective and really fun. People will certainly remember when you send a digital gift.
